Nathan Baskerville is a native of Vance County, where he currently resides.
Baskerville worked as an Assistant District Attorney before establishing his firm, Nathan A. Baskerville, PLLC. He is a fellow with the NC Institute of Political Leadership.
During his time in Atlanta, his community service activities included tutoring at-risk youth with the Phyllis Wheatley WCA Community Outreach Tutorial Program and organizing a class-wide food-drive donated to the Atlanta Food Bank. He also spent a summer during this time at CA Dillon Youth Detention Center, where he taught the GED class and helped several students obtain their GED. He enjoys working with kids, and is a Teen Court Volunteer and a Little League Baseball coach. He is a lifelong Democrat and worked in 2008 on the Vance County Obama for America Campaign.
He is currently the Vice President of the 9th Judicial District Bar Association - the association of all lawyers in Vance, Granville, Warren, and Franklin Counties. He was elected to this position by the lawyers in those 4 counties. He is also the Chairman of the Vance County Indigent Defense Committee - also an elected position in Vance County.

He was accepted into the Honors Program at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration. He was an EB Williams Scholar during his time at Morehouse and also studied abroad for a semester at Pontifica Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
Baskerville continued his studies at North Carolina Central University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate. During his time at NCCU, he was elected Class President of his second year class, and was a member of the Trial Advocacy Board.
